Anna Huang is a Research Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Anna obtained her doctorate in psychology, integrative neurosciences concentration at Stony Brook University in New York, and completed one year of postdoctoral training at Mt Sinai Medical Center before completing her postdocotral training at VUMC and joining the faculty in 2022. Anna is actively engaged in research and teaching. Her research focuses on using neuroimaging and other cognitive neuroscience methods to study the neural processes of cognition in the healthy and developmental brain, and cognitive impairment in psychiatric illnesses, focusing on psychotic disorders. She is particularly focused on the involvement of the thalamocortical system in executive functioning. In addition to research, Dr. Huang is Co-Director of the Brain, Behavior and Movement course in the Vanderbilt Medical School, and Chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Research Sub-committee. Her clinical activities involve performing presurgical fMRI evaluations of individuals with epilepsy and other neurological disorders. She provides mentorship to undergraduate students with an interest in psychology, cognitive sciences or neuroscience.
